Control Kills Growth and Leadership
There are many struggling organizations, including churches, that have the disabling problem summed up in the animations, below:

Creative persons in an organization may offer the most potential for organizational growth. Unfortunately, where a "controlling" group sees that the possible success of something creative may result in a loss of their power, quick steps may be taken to sabotage the creativity and even ostracize those persons who are behind it. Thus, the organization loses the advantage of a growth producing program and the badly needed potential of creative leadership.
Sometimes the attempts to control include gossip, unfair and harsh criticism, and character assassination.
